Graduated in Environmental Sciences from the University of La Laguna, where she also completed a Master’s Degree in Renewable Energies and a PhD in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. She received a predoctoral FPI contract from ACIISI to carry out her doctoral thesis and is currently a Substitute Lecturer in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Pharmaceutical Technology at the ULL. Her research interests, developed in collaboration with the TyRA (Water Treatment and Reuse) research group at the ULL, focus on water purification using membranes, membrane fouling, and the application of photobioreactors for wastewater reuse. Her work also extends to the energy recovery of sludge generated in domestic wastewater treatment and the use of microalgae cultivated in photobioreactors. She has participated in several projects highlighting the importance of wastewater regeneration, the valorization of sewage treatment waste, and raising awareness about the limited space available on islands for wastewater treatment. In addition, she has conducted numerous environmental awareness and science outreach workshops and has actively participated in national and international conferences.
