Bachelor in Biology at the University of La Laguna between 2008 and 2013, and later completed a Master’s Degree and PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Valencia. He carried out his doctoral thesis at the Prince Felipe Research Center under an FPU contract, focusing on the role of neuroinflammation in cognitive impairment and synaptic alterations associated with hepatic encephalopathy in rat models. Between 2018 and 2020, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher on a project analyzing the potential of dietary supplementation with polyunsaturated fatty acids against cognitive decline in aged female mice, within the Cellular Signaling in Neurodegenerative Diseases research group at the ULL. In 2021, he served as an interim lecturer in Psychobiology at the ULL. From 2022 to 2025, he worked in the Animal Models in Neurodegeneration Laboratory at the University Hospital of the Canary Islands and the Institute of Biomedical Technologies of the ULL as a postdoctoral researcher, first under a Sara Borrell contract from the Carlos III Health Institute and later through a project-based contract. His current research focuses on the pathophysiological mechanisms of murine models of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and the role of functional alterations at the neuromuscular junction. Since December 2025, he has been an Assistant Professor in the Physiology area of the Department of Basic Medical Sciences at the ULL. He also served as a board member of JINTE from 2021 to 2023.
