Within the organization, we strive to ensure an accessible and inclusive congress where all individuals feel welcomed. Through this code of conduct, we call upon all individuals participating or attending to promote the III International Congress of Youth for Research as a safe, open, and respectful environment.
The event aims to highlight the scientific contributions of young researchers, defined as those in the early stages of their careers. Therefore, we encourage scientific diversity, encompassing all fields of knowledge, and invite participation from all who desire, regardless of their professional stage, gender, age, or background, in accordance with the principles guiding the congress:
- Promote research within a context of equality and inclusion.
- Foster scientific dissemination in multiple formats.
- Increase visibility of the work carried out by early researchers.
- Disseminate and respect the code of conduct of the scientific community.
- Facilitate communication and exchange among individuals involved in the research career.
- Promote interdisciplinary dialogue to encourage collaboration across different fields of study.
- Raise awareness in society about the importance of research conducted in Universities, Units, and Research Centers to contribute to the development and transmission of knowledge.
- Strengthen the competitiveness and development of the Islands through the promotion of research and knowledge transfer within a framework of internationalization and dialogue with the research contexts of other countries, fostering synergies between local researchers and individuals attending the event from abroad.
To ensure an open and respectful conduct, based on integrity, ethical values, and norms of courtesy, the following guidelines are established:
Presentation and accessible communication
- Use font sizes large enough to ensure clear reading from a distance, allowing readability from the back of the room.
- Make appropriate use of colors, ensuring good contrast between text and slide background. Please avoid excessive use of bright or flashy colors to present and interpret data. This will better accommodate potential visual diversity in color perception among the attending audience.
- Remember that less is more. Clarity in information and simplicity in slides can help convey the message more effectively to those listening.
- Describe and explain the included images so that the audience can follow the presentation correctly.
- Speak slowly, with an appropriate pace to communicate clearly.
- Be mindful of the language used. We recommend the use of inclusive language both in slides and in the narrative exposition.
- Reference the authorship of any graphic material used in contributions to the congress, whether oral communications or posters.
Ethics in research and scientific communication
- Strict adherence to the core values of the scientific community is required regarding the originality, transparency, authorship, and scientific-cultural value of the works presented.
- Plagiarism and any form of unauthorized appropriation of others' intellectual work are categorically prohibited. The use of generative artificial intelligence tools (such as ChatGPT or similar) must be explicitly declared when they have contributed significantly to the writing or analysis of the work, following the guidelines of the publication or reference institution.
- Each speaker commits to citing all sources and authors whose work or works they refer to. Space or time limitations in oral presentations do not exempt the researcher from the obligation to provide complete information in written documents. It is the personal responsibility of each individual to respect all norms regarding copyright, plagiarism, intellectual property, industrial property, etc.
- Each speaker commits to providing original, informative, and up-to-date content. The information disseminated must result from rigorous investigative work that respects the methodologies of each area of knowledge and not from personal opinions, subjective preferences, or individual beliefs.
- Speakers commit to communicating scientific results impartially, without distortions or influences from personal interests of the researchers or third parties with whom they collaborate.
- Presentations and research results cannot be used in any way to promote hate speech or discriminatory dynamics. Any form of instrumentalization that violates the principles of free and disinterested scientific research is not permitted.
- It is important for each researcher to facilitate the understanding of their work according to the principles of scientific dissemination: clarity, simplicity, communicative effectiveness, discursive linearity, transparency regarding the methodology used, explanation of the results, and their scientific impact.
- It is recommended to explicitly declare any potential conflicts of interest related to the presented research, including funding sources or institutional affiliations that could influence the results.
Respectful behavior
- No type of harassment, intimidation, or discrimination will be tolerated.
- By harassment, we understand:
- Negative comments regarding gender, identity, sexual orientation, origin, functional diversity, religion, age, physical appearance, or clothing of a person.
- Negative comments about a person's lifestyle, whether related to their diet, health, and/or habits.
- Negative comments or those intended to discredit regarding someone else's professional career or work.
- Interruptions during presentations, exhibitions, or conversations with other participants or attendees.
- Deliberate intimidation or threats.
- Cyberbullying on any platform, social network (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.), or similar.
- Jokes, humiliations, insults, offensive or discriminatory gestures, mockery, or ridicule of a verbal or written nature.
- Repeated pursuit of intimate relationships after being rejected.
- Use of any aspect of a person's identity or work to humiliate or discredit them.
- NOT using a person's name, pronouns, and felt gender.
Recording and Photos
- It is prohibited to take photos or videos of any presentation material (oral communication or poster) without the authorization of the presenters. Therefore, we encourage presenters to inform the audience if they agree and authorize photos/videos or social media dissemination of their presentations.
- The event organizers will undertake filming and photography activities solely for the purpose of promoting and disseminating the event, without prejudice to the aforementioned point. Should any attendee or participant prefer not to be included in such materials, they are kindly requested to communicate their decision in writing to the organizers prior to the commencement of the event.
Responsible Use of Spaces and Resources
- A respectful use of the congress facilities is requested: classrooms, rest areas, common spaces, and materials made available to participants.
- We kindly ask you to maintain order and cleanliness in all areas, as well as to follow the instructions of the venue staff.
- As part of our commitment to sustainability, participants are encouraged to minimize the use of disposable materials and to make responsible use of the available resources.
In this way, we expect that those who attend and participate in the conference demonstrate professional, integral, and respectful behavior at all times, accepting and following this Code of Conduct.

Repeated or serious non-compliance with this code of conduct may result in expulsion from the congress.
